Question1: What is 2FA and why is it important to have 2FA?
Answer:

2FA stands for Two Factor Authentication.  This is an enhanced process to further secure your access and usage with finatiQ.  The 1st factor is "what you know", ie, your "User-ID", "Password".  The 2nd factor is "what you have", which is the Security Token - a personal security device we will be issuing to persons who opts for this to access finatiQ.  Used in combination, these two factors will provide greater peace of mind in performing banking transactions over the internet.

Question2: What is a 2FA Token?
Answer:

There are two types of 2FA Token offered by finatiQ; a hardware token and a SMS token. A Hardware Token is a personal security device that will be issued by finatiQ to better secure your transactions online by providing an OTP (one time password) every time you log on to your account. It is designed bearing the OCBC Bank’s logo. The SMS Token works in a similar way as the Hardware Token except that you must already own a mobile phone.

Question3: Hardware Token
Answer:

For this mode of two-factor authentication, a Hardware Token will be issued and sent to you by ordinary post, and this should reach you within 2 weeks from the date of your selection. This is a pocket-sized device that will generate a one-time password at the touch of a button. The one-time password then acts as a second level of authentication when you log on to your finatiQ account on the Internet.

Question4: SMS Token
Answer:

For this mode of two-factor authentication, you will not require the Hardware Token mentioned above. Instead, a one-time password will be sent to your mobile phone via SMS whenever you attempt to log on to your finatiQ account on the Internet. Likewise, this one-time password acts as a second level of authentication

Question7: Who should select Hardware token?
Answer:

We recommend that customers who travel frequently or are stationed overseas to consider selecting the Hardware token, this is to ensure that you will not be subjected to SMS delivery times of the different Telco overseas. Additionally, we recommend customers who are overseas with an overseas handphone number to use the hardware token, reason being that we do not currently support overseas telecommunication networks.

Question8: When do I need to use the 2FA Token?
Answer:

Once you have requested for and activated the token, you will need the token every time you attempt to log into finatiQ secured pages. You will need to use the 2FA token when you want to log in to your finatiQ account as the token will generate an OTP (one time password) which we will require you to key in every time, the OTP is a random number that will be generated by the token.

Question9: Can I use the same 2FA Token for 2 different login IDs? E.g. Sharing among different Customers / husband & wife / colleagues / friends
Answer:

No, for security reasons this is NOT allowed, the 2FA token or additional factor here is similar to your signature which is unique to your own account. Secondly the system will also prompt an invalid transaction message if you have accidentally used someone else’s token by mistake to log on to your account.
